Leaning In
We are numb. This is certainly not the election result we expected or worked so hard for. It will take time to process and chart a path forward. One thing is certain: what happens next will test the resilience of our democracy and our collective resolve to fight for the values that are foundational to this country. So breathe and lean in --- we are sharing a few pieces below that friends sent to help renew and regain perspective. For the sake of our country, we can not be defeated. Find joy, embrace your friends and family and get ready for the work ahead.
We Are Grateful!
Please take a moment to celebrate and recognize the incredible amount of work we did together in this election. So many people contributed and made it such a positive experience. These are friendships and connections we will build on! We are so grateful for:
The hundreds of volunteers who knocked on doors, phoned and texted voters, wrote postcards (13,000+ at last count!), and contributed in ways big and small to get out the vote.
The awesome partnerships with like-minded groups, including Jax NOW, Indivisible
Mandarin, Indivisible Jax Riverside, DWIN, the Beaches Democratic Club, and many more. Our work together was so important and a true joy! Let's make it a model for the future.
All of our incredible candidates --- our standard-bearers Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, Jay McGovern, Rachel Grage, and local Beaches candidates --- who worked so hard and sacrificed so much to run. We were proud to support you!
And finally, you! BAM members, our leadership group, and newsletter subscribers who stepped up and responded to calls for action, paid dues, contributed financially to support the work of this organization, and kept us on our toes. We are truly grateful for the network we have built since 2017 and look forward to our future work together. We will not be defeated!
